Giving Back

It's nice to lend a hand

At DevelopIntelligence, helping people is at the core of who we are and what we do. We help people every day to learn new technologies, new languages, and new programming processes.

But we believe helping people should extend beyond our classrooms. We believe that helping others is part of what makes the world a better place. Below are a few groups we've supported through the giving of our time, money, and resources.

Operation-Airdrop (OAD) is a group of over 200 pilots and planes from across the nation. OAD has delivered unprecedented and timely relief to those who may have otherwise not received help for weeks with the help from groups such as the Texas Baptist Men, Salvation Army, Texas Navy, Cajun Air Force, AeroBridge, and Operation BBQ Relief.

In 2017, DevelopIntelligence donated 1% of net profit to assist with relief efforts in Beaumont, TX by providing over 720 lbs of supplies to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. 2016 was another successful year for our partnership with our in-house Python instructor Dave Wade-Stein getting excellent reviews from students who took his introduction to Python half-day course. Here's what one student said of the course:

"Last year I had the opportunity to dabble with Python at a DevelopIntelligence workshop. I've always been curious about Python, just never had the opportunity to sit down with it in an organized, effective, and focused way. What I really dug about the workshop is that the instructor was very skilled in balancing the class to make it appealing to both the inexperienced and experienced which is always hard when people in the workshop are at such different levels of knowledge. The agenda was well organized and had the right balance of intro/background, hands on exercises, syntax, constructs, tooling, and examples of real-world use cases. Although it's unrealistic to learn a language from scratch in half a day I feel that the time was well spent. I do have over a decade of knowledge in app development with other languages and one thing that really impressed me was the instructor's skill at answering my questions without alienating others that came from less experienced backgrounds. This was a good taste of what DevelopIntelligence can offer and taking a full class with them is something I would definitely recommend."
