We’ve been busy the past couple of months giving a couple of great presentations at local meetups and front-end conferences. Scott González and Doug Neiner recently gave separate talks on topics ranging from “How I Got Started as a Coder and How You Can Too” and “jQuery: Nuts, Bolts and Bling”.
Scott González Keynote Speaker

Front-end Design Conference
Doug Neiner
Doug was a featured speaker at the Front-end Design Conference along with Ethan Marcotte (Responsive Web Design), Ryan Singer (37Signals), Chris Coyier (CSS Tricks) and some other great speakers. He gave a talk titled “jQuery: Nuts, Bolts and Bling” on July 22, 2011. The talk was given to an audience of designers and developers whose skill level varied drastically, ranging from those who have never used jQuery to those very proficient at jQuery. Doug walked them through getting started with jQuery, some useful tricks and then lead them through a session of live coding to showcase some more advance techniques.
The illustration of Doug was created by Ricardo Gimenes for the Front-end Design Conference web site.
Did you hear Scott or Doug talks? We would love to hear your feedback. Don’t forget that you can see Scott, Doug and even Elijah Manor give talks at the upcoming jQuery Conference in Boston on October 1-2.
