The Developing Web Services with Jakarta EE training course provides an overview of web services development in the Jakarta Enterprise Edition (EE) platform, formerly known as Java EE.
The course begins with an examination of interoperable standards relating to web services development. With the general Web Services foundation laid, the course then moves into a discussion and exploration of how to use Jakarta technology to implement the standards. Throughout the course, both Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)-oriented and Representational State Transfer (REST)ful-oriented services are evaluated. The course concludes by reviewing examples of services developed using the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that are standard to the Jakarta EE platform: Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS), SOAP with Attachments API for Java (SAAJ), and Java API for RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS) in particular.
