September is host to several different festivals, such as Beakerhead and the Calgary International Film Festival. Beakerhead puts artists, engineers, and community members together for five days with a variety of fare, like scientifically engineered artistic pieces, as well as community-inspired competitions.

The Calgary International Film Festival is a 12-day screening party for nearly 200 new films and documentaries. These screenings often allow Q & A sessions with the films’ directors, something unheard of in the industry.
